Rebuilding Australian Industry Starts with Us

We used to build things in this country. We had jobs that meant something, industries that trained generations, and a sense of pride in making things with our own hands. Somewhere along the line, that all got outsourced, and everyday Australians have paid the price.

It’s time to bring manufacturing back to Australia.

We need to rebuild our economic complexity. That means more than just plugging holes — it means creating long-term, full-time jobs that strengthen our economy, support our families, and give young Australians a reason to stay and build their future here.

I support practical policies that make that happen. That includes a serious investment in national apprenticeships, where first-year apprentices receive a 75 percent wage subsidy, followed by 50 percent in their second year and 25 percent in their third. Programs like this have already been a huge success across regional Australia and can make a real impact right here in Fadden.

We also need to stop relying on cheap overseas imports that undercut local businesses. By prioritising Australian-made products, building nation-shaping infrastructure, and supporting our tradies, engineers, and manufacturers, we can reclaim our independence and create jobs that stay here for the long haul.

Our nation has the resources, the talent, and the need. What we’ve lacked is leadership. I’m stepping up to change that.

Let’s build a future where we make things again. Where our kids can learn a trade, earn a wage, and take pride in a job well done. That future starts here.
